Call for applications: large restaurant chalet for the 2025 Christmas market

This year will see the 48th edition of the Christmas market in Differdange, renowned as Luxembourg’s oldest Christmas market. This year’s market will take place from 5 to 21 December.

The program includes more than 15 concerts, an ice rink, a curling rink, and a carousel, with free admission for all children. St. Nicolas will be visiting the market on 6 December.

The City of Differdange is currently calling for applications for the operation of the large restaurant chalet (13×6 meters) on the market square.

You have two options:

OPTION 1: Rent the municipal chalet (size: 13×6 meters)

Price: 1,500€

Included in the rental price:

Assembly of the chalet
Water
Electricity (380 x 64A)
Fan heating

Operator responsibilities:

Interior and exterior decoration of the chalet (see photos)
Offer of winter-themed cuisine
Construction of a usable outdoor terrace (see photos)
Supply and installation of own kitchen consisting of two shipping containers:
- A module measuring 3 x 2.44 meters, with wooden cladding,
- A module measuring 6.05 x 2.44 meters, with wooden cladding,
- Delivery by crane (minimum capacity of 2.4 tons at 12 meters)
Ensure a seal between the kitchen and the chalet
Provide adequate wastewater disposal facilities.
Electrical installation in accordance with current standards up to the municipal electrical panel

Minimum opening hours required:

Friday and Saturday: 11:30 am to 10 pm
Sunday to Thursday: 11:30 am to 8 pm

OPTION 2: Rent the locations (chalet + kitchen)

Requirements for the chalet:

Provide a fully wood-built chalet
Provide a kitchen with wood paneling or similar
Accessible to people with reduced mobility
Construction of a usable outdoor terrace*
Interior and exterior decoration of the chalet*
Ensure a seal between the kitchen and the chalet
Provide adequate wastewater disposal facilities.
Electrical installation in accordance with current standards up to the municipal electrical panel
