Inauguration of the new Differdange police station

On Friday, 19 May 2023, the new Differdange police station was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Henri KOX, Minister of Internal Security, and the Deputy General Director of the Police, Donat DONVEN. As of now, the citizens of Differdange will be welcomed at the new site located at number 10, boulevard Émile Krieps, and no longer at the old address in avenue Pasteur.

Construction of the building, owned by the city of Differdange, began in February 2021.

The building was designed for long-term use and to meet the specific needs of a police station, taking into account the evolution of society and the requirements of the profession.

Structure of the new building

With a total usable area of approximately 3660 m2 spread over 6 floors, the building can accommodate up to 120 officers and external visitors in a modern environment that meets the latest safety and ergonomic standards.

In the basement, there are sanitary facilities (changing rooms and showers) and technical rooms.

The main entrance is located on the ground floor, with a reception desk, an entrance hall leading to the waiting room and sanitary facilities for visitors. On the same floor are three hearing rooms, the lost-and-found office, a large divisible meeting room and the adjacent covered parking area for service vehicles.

The first, second and third floors are reserved exclusively for police staff, including offices and sanitary facilities, a kitchen and a changing room.

The fourth floor houses the technical installations (ventilation, elevator smoke vent, air conditioning) and the photovoltaic panels.

Sustainability was also a major consideration in the design, including a heat pump and a photovoltaic system.

Opening hours and reception of citizens

The Differdange police station operates in three shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In order to offer a better service to the citizens, we recommend to make an appointment in advance for all non-urgent cases.
