We would like to inform you that participation in the municipal elections on 11 June 2023 is compulsory for all Luxembourg citizens over the age of 18 and for non-Luxembourg citizens who are registered to vote.

Any person registered on the electoral roll may request a postal vote.

The request for a postal vote must be received by the municipality in which the voter wishes to vote:

  • no earlier than 12 weeks and no later than 25 days before polling dayif the invitation to vote is to be sent to Luxembourg ;
  • no earlier than 12 weeks and no later than 40 days before polling dayif the invitation is to be sent abroad.

From 20 March 2023, the relevant forms will be available on our website www.differdange.lu and at the citizens’ office of the city of Differdange.

The application must be made either electronically on a secure government platform (www.myguichet.lu), informally on paper or via a form available at Differdange town hall and below.

The application must indicate the voter’s last name, first names, date and place of birth, place of residence as well as the address to which the convocation letter should be sent.

The request for a postal vote must reach the Aldermen’s College no earlier than 20 March 2023 and no later than 2 May 2023:

  • 2 May 2023 if the poll card is to be sent to an address abroad;
  • 17 May 2023 if the poll card is to be sent to an address in Luxembourg.
