New Statio’minute parking meter

For a few days now, there has been a new parking meter in Rue Michel-Rodange, a so-called “Statio’minute” parking meter.

Meaning this meter automatically detects parked vehicles and starts a thirty-minute timer. The screen displays the time elapsing in a green circle. As the minutes pass, the green circle disappears and is finally replaced by a red light signal after half an hour.

The advantages

The advantages of “Statio’minute” parking meters are twofold. On the one hand, they make life easier for drivers by starting up automatically and allowing them to clearly see how much time is elapsing. On the other hand, they contribute to a better rotation of vehicles in the city center. They are therefore ideal for people who want to take advantage of local shops.

Practical information

The meter operates from Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm. Parking is limited to thirty minutes. For the moment, two meters have been installed in Rue Michel-Rodange. But in the long term, it is planned to replace all the parking meters with timer with this new system.
