Obtaining municipal housing

The city of Differdange has decided to introduce a set of clear and transparent criteria for obtaining municipal housing. As ‚municipal housing’ is considered any apartment/house that belongs to the municipality and for which it has not received a government subsidy.

Applicants must have resided in Differdange for at least two consecutive years. The rent per apartment is set at 3% of the invested capital and may not exceed 35% of the monthly net household income.

Please note: This procedure does not concern the apartments of Project Gravity!

Applicants

Applicants are divided into six groups:

  1. Young Adult
  2. Single parent
  3. Couple with children
  4. Single
  5. Couple without children
  6. AIS-K tenants

General terms and conditions

  • The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
  • The applicant must have a work contract.
  • The maximum net monthly income is 3500 € per person.
  • The lease contract is terminated with a 6-month period if the maximum net income of 3500 € is exceeded.
  • Termination of the lease contract with a delay of six months if the accommodation is no longer suitable for the household according to the allocation table.

The procedure

Applications must be submitted using the form below on the website of the city of Differdingen to ensure transparency regarding the date of receipt of the application.

Applications are classified in the respective groups according to the date of entry. The allocation table defines which type of housing can be allocated according to the composition of the household.

Allocation Committee

The allocation of housing must be validated each time by the allocation committee composed of a member of the college of Aldermen, a member of the housing department, a council member of the opposition and a member of the social office.
The committee determines which housing unit will be used as for shared housing.
The housing is allocated according to the rankings of the general classification and taking into consideration the allocation table.
