Biometric passport

To obtain a new passport, persons of Luxembourg nationality who live in the municipality of Differdange apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Differdange citizens office (Biergeramt).

The request must be made by the person in question. Minors must be accompanied by a custodial parent or legal guardian.

The photo and fingerprint of the left and right index fingers will be taken directly at the municipal citizens office (Biergeramt) using the equipment installed there.

Documents to be submitted:

• an identity document
• the expired passport (old passport)
• proof of payment of 50 € or 30 € (minors aged 0-4) respectively

Passports can be collected in person seven working days after the application is submitted at the citizens office in Differdange or at the Passport Office in Luxembourg (6, rue de l’Ancien Athénée L-1144 Luxembourg).
