Toad migration season is approaching. The City of Differdange is calling for volunteers.
Every year between March and May, hundreds of toads begin their spring migration in the Lasauvage area. These amphibians leave their hibernation quarters to reach the ponds where they breed.
To protect the animals during the perilous crossing of the main road, our city’s ecological department is installing temporary barriers to guide the toads toward collection buckets, preventing them from being run over.
We are looking for volunteers to help safely transport the toads across the road. This civic action directly contributes to the preservation of our local biodiversity.
