Waste

The City of Differdange is actively concerned about its waste management. Through its door-to-door waste collection, the resource center and waste-prevention efforts the city offers modern waste management for private individuals but also for small and medium businesses.

Garbage collection and waste removal

Trash cans, trash bags, and bulky waste may be placed on the street no earlier than 6 p.m. on the day before the respective collection and no later than 6 a.m. on the day of collection.

Bulky waste

Collections are organised based on residents’ needs in coordination with our waste management department, but only on Mondays.

Collection requests must be made by Friday before the collection date:

According to the provisions of the Waste Management Law, the removal of bulky waste is charged at:
€20 per m³
+ €20 for transportation

Sofas
Wooden furniture
Mattresses/beds
Rugs

Important!

The following items are NOT considered bulky waste, scrap metal, or household appliances:

plastic bags,
recyclables (paper/cardboard, glass bottles, Valorlux, organic waste, yard waste),
items to be disposed of in the gray bin (mixed residual waste),
hazardous and toxic waste (SDK),
construction and demolition waste,
old clothing, textiles, and shoes.

Residents of the City of Differdange can drop off their bulky items, household appliances, and scrap metal at the Differdange resource center free of charge.

Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Last admission: 15 minutes before closing

Household appliances – Scrap metal

Collections are made only upon prior request on the dates listed in our waste collection calendar. The removal of household appliances and scrap metal is free of charge.
