Projects submitted to citizen vote on Hoplr

Citizens had the opportunity to vote for their favourite project until 15 September 2025 on the neighborhood network Hoplr.

The results of the vote are as follows:
51% Welcoming meeting place in Belair — a place for everyone
22% Legal wall for street art and graffiti
27% Differdange seniors breaking free from stereotypes!

The two projects with the most votes will be implemented.

Welcoming meeting place in Belair — a place for everyone

A new gathering place in the Belair neighborhood? It’s up to you to vote!

What if we transformed the green space near the playground into a friendly, welcoming, and useful place for everyone?

Here is our proposal:

  • A pétanque court for playing in all seasons;
  • A covered pavilion with a barbecue, where people can get together out of the sun or rain;
  • Picnic benches and tables for sharing a meal, chatting, and relaxing.

This project aims to strengthen social ties in our neighborhood by creating a pleasant place for all ages and generations.

The image is an illustration of what it could look like.

Vote for this project on Hoplr!

A small gesture on your part can make a big difference to life in our neighborhood. Thank you for your support, and feel free to share the information with others!

Legal wall for street art, graffiti

This project would transform one of Differdange’s many walls into a legal graffiti wall, meaning anyone could express their creativity on it whenever they wanted. This would reduce vandalism of private property, create a new social space and encourage creativity.

The project would also make the city more interesting to look at and cost little to no money to create and maintain. Vote for this project to make the city more colorful!

Differdange seniors breaking free from stereotypes!

In collaboration with the City, the project’s organizers are launching a bold, innovative campaign to show seniors in a new light. This campaign celebrates a generation full of life, ambition, and daring, far from stereotypes. From rockers and passionate athletes to inspired creators and committed bikers, our seniors pose in surprising situations that reveal their energy and modernity.

Through twelve large-format photos and a short film, the campaign empowers, celebrates, and showcases this generation.

Presented during Senior Citizens Week, the campaign highlights Differdange residents who are taking on personal challenges, fulfilling dreams, and proving that age is no barrier to talent or ambition.

An exhibition, a solidarity calendar, and social media coverage will complement this initiative, which is driven by and for our seniors.

It’s time to see our seniors for who they are: inspiring, passionate, and full of life.

Projects selected by the Supervisory Committee

Installation of a beach volleyball court

Many people, young to old, enjoy playing volleyball, especially beach volleyball when the weather is nice. What is missing is a suitable court. This participatory budgeting project aims to remedy this situation by enabling people, especially young people, to enjoy their hobby locally without having to leave our municipality.

Planting trees (poplars or other)

Poplar trees used to be a common sight in Differdange. This project involves planting new poplar or other trees in Differdange.
