The City is looking for tour guides

Do you enjoy interacting with people and have an affinity for Luxembourg’s historical and cultural heritage? The City of Differdange is looking for freelance tour guides to lead guided tours of the municipality’s rich mining heritage.

Desired profile

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and proficient in Luxembourgish, French, German, or English at C1 level. A confident appearance, good communication skills, and a basic knowledge of Luxembourg are essential.

Experience in guiding or leading groups is desirable, as is, preferably, basic training in tourism. An interest in or knowledge of mining is an asset, but not essential.

Training and support

The selected guides will undergo mandatory half-day training organized by the City of Differdange. A complete file containing all the information necessary to conduct the tours will be provided to them at that time. The knowledge acquired will be evaluated before the first tours take place.

Diverse profiles welcome

Whether you are a student, working professional, or retired, we encourage you to apply. Assignments are flexible and tailored to each guide’s availability—collaboration is possible even for just one or two tours per year. There is no requirement for regular availability. A passion for heritage is the most important asset.

How to apply?

Send your application (resume and, if applicable, references in guiding) to:
