In July 2025, Differdange installed sports equipment sharing stations at the following locations:
These innovative connected lockers allow citizens to borrow self-service sports equipment free of charge using a mobile application.
The systems are compact, secure and energy self-sufficient, so they can be installed without the need to connect them to the electricity grid.

The equipment varies depending on the location and the facilities available.
By digitising the service, it is possible to analyse usage data, tailor the offer to user preferences and assess the social and environmental impact of the service.
This solution modernises access to sport in the public space. It has a number of objectives:
to enable everyone to discover a sporting activity;
to encourage sport and movement on a daily basis;
to strengthen social inclusion;
to develop a sharing economy (one of the objectives of the NetZeroCities program);
to enhance the value of the city’s sports facilities and urban spaces.
