Important Notice: No Passport Applications on 8 May

A new model of the Luxembourg passport, valid for up to ten years, will be introduced on Monday, 11 May 2026.

In order to allow for the necessary technical adjustments to be made, no passport applications can be accepted on Friday, 8 May 2026.

In the event of a significant increase in the number of applications, applications for passport renewals that are still valid for more than six months may be denied.

The new passports

New Luxembourg passports will be issued in the following categories:

• For minors under the age of 4: valid for 2 years – price: 30 €;
• For minors aged 4 to 18: valid for 5 years – price: 50 €;
• For individuals aged 18 and older: valid for 10 years – price: 50 €.

Applications for the new passport models can be submitted starting Monday, 11 May 2026.
