Declaration on the letting of furnished rooms and shared apartments

In accordance with the law of 20 December 2019 relating to health, hygiene, safety and habitability criteria for dwellings and rooms rented out or made available for residential purposes, any registration of persons on the main register at the address concerned will be suspended until the submission of a rental declaration in accordance with the provisions as set out in article 3 of the law of 20 December 2019 relating to health, hygiene, safety and habitability criteria for dwellings and rooms rented out or made available for residential purposes.

Art. 3. Any owner or operator who rents out or makes available one or more rooms is required to declare them in advance to the mayor of the municipality, indicating the maximum number of people who can be accommodated there and enclosing a plan of the premises with the declaration.

To ensure compliance, owners of buildings housing furnished rooms are required to visit the website and fill in the form below, providing :

  • a plan of the building, including all the elements mentioned in the 2019 law and regulations
  • an assessment from the Service Prévention du Corps Grand-Ducal d’Incendie et de Secours (CGDIS)

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that the application is complete. Incomplete applications will be considered as not received.
