Accessibility statement

The declaring body “City of Differdange” undertakes to make its website accessible, in accordance with the law of 28 May 2019 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.
This accessibility statement applies to: https://differdange.lu/

What is digital accessibility?

Everyone should be able to use and easily access the information available on a website or an application, in particular people with disabilities and/or those using assistive software or specialised equipment (visual, auditory, physical, cognitive impairments, etc.).

State of compliance

This website is partially compliant with the European standard EN 301 549 and with RAWeb v1.1, which implements it, due to the elements listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

Non-compliances

  • Criterion 10.11: some content cannot be accessed without loss of information or functionality on small screens (horizontal scrolling is required in some cases).
  • Criteria 13.5 and 13.6: some cryptic content (emojis, specific syntax, etc.) does not always have a relevant text alternative.
  • Criterion 11.13: the purpose of some form fields is not correctly defined to allow autocomplete by user agents.

Non-compliances due to disproportionate burden (Forms)

  • Criterion 11.5: fields of the same type are not always grouped.
  • Criterion 11.6: some groups of fields lack a legend.
  • Criterion 11.7: legends are sometimes not relevant.
  • Criterion 11.8: grouping of certain items in choice lists is not optimal.

Commitment:
New forms will be designed in compliance with these criteria.
Existing forms will be progressively corrected during their next updates.

Disproportionate burden

Forms (Ninja Forms)

Existing forms do not yet fully comply with accessibility criteria. Their complete overhaul represents a disproportionate burden. New forms will be designed to be accessible and existing ones will be progressively improved.

Media (images and videos)

Some older content does not have compliant alternative texts, subtitles or transcripts. New media will be accessible and existing content will be updated progressively according to priorities.

PDF documents

PDFs published before the compliance initiative are not all accessible. New PDFs will be accessible. Important documents will be made compliant as they are updated or replaced by accessible alternatives on request.

Content outside the scope of the law of 28 May 2019

PDF documents published before the compliance process

Documents published before the implementation of the accessibility process are not subject to the obligation of compliance, unless they are updated or are essential for carrying out an administrative procedure.

Exemption by consent / disproportionate burden exception

Certain content or functionalities may be exempted when compliance represents a disproportionate burden or when no technically reasonable alternative is possible. An accessible alternative may be provided on request where necessary.

Accessibility features

  • quick access menu activated via the Tab key;
  • direct access to the main sections of the website;
  • opening of the accessibility menu;
  • display customisation options:
    • enhanced contrast,
    • adjustable line spacing,
