Certificate of residence

The residence certificate contains information about you and your place of residence. This certificate may be requested as a supporting document for certain administrative procedures.

There is also an extended residence certificate which also contains the personal details of all persons (children, spouse or registered partner) who have the same place of usual residence as you.

There are several ways of obtaining the certificate.

Online on guichet.lu

The generation of the certificate is possible via MyGuichet.lu. The certificate can thus be downloaded free of charge in PDF format. To generate the certificate, the user has to log in to his private area of MyGuichet.lu under “my data” and click on the “generate” button.

By person at the citizens office

The residence certificate is issued free of charge by our citizens office (Biergeramt) on presentation of a valid identity document.
