The Skoda Tour de Luxembourg Kicks Off on September 17

On Thursday, September 17, 2026, Differdange will host the start of the second stage of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg (UCI ProSeries), which will take the riders from Niederkorn to Junglinster over a distance of 166.8 km. The race will start at 2:30 p.m. in front of the girls’ school in Niederkorn. Come out in large numbers to cheer on the world’s elite cyclists along the route.

Before leaving the municipality, the peloton will complete two laps through Differdange, Niederkorn, and Oberkorn, passing notably along Avenue de la Liberté, Boulevard Émile-Krieps, Rue Émile-Mark, Rue de Soleuvre, Rue Pierre-Gansen, Avenue Charlotte, and Route de Belvaux, before continuing toward Belvaux.

Traffic Restrictions

Two extended road closures are planned:

  • Rue Pierre-Gansen (between the Niederkorn roundabout and Rue de Sanem): closed from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., then reopened as a one-way street from Soleuvre toward Niederkorn;
  • Avenue de la Liberté (near the school): closed starting at 1:30 p.m..

The rest of the circuit will be closed only intermittently, as the runners pass through: streets will be closed as soon as the sweep vehicle passes. The two laps of the circuit will last approximately thirty minutes in total.

We recommend that residents and road users plan their trips accordingly and thank everyone for their understanding.
