The City of Differdange is surveying vacant homes in its jurisdiction and inviting owners to entrust them to the Kordall Social Housing Agency (AISK). A win-win solution: guaranteed rent and tax benefits for owners, and decent housing for families in need.
The housing shortage—and in particular the lack of affordable housing—is one of the country’s major challenges. Paradoxically, many homes remain vacant—including in our city.
For many low-income families, accessing housing is an insurmountable obstacle. They must either rely on social assistance or settle for precarious living conditions in dilapidated or simply substandard housing.
The City of Differdange is committed, through various initiatives, to providing affordable housing. As part of this effort, it is identifying vacant housing units and seeks to encourage their owners to make them available to AIS Kordall through a social rental management contract.
The Kordall Social Housing Agency (AIS Kordall) is an initiative of the Kordall Intermunicipal Union (SIKOR), which comprises the municipalities of Differdange, Käerjeng, Pétange, and Sanem. Active for over ten years, it aims to promote the social use of vacant housing in these four municipalities.
In practice, the AISK takes over unoccupied housing units and makes them available to families in need at an affordable rent. A team of nine staff members handles all administrative, financial, technical, and social aspects.
Entrusting your home to the AISK means benefiting from solid guarantees and worry-free management:
This ensures your property remains in good condition throughout the lease—and you make a tangible contribution to addressing an urgent social need.
Do you own a vacant property? Make it available to AISK Kordall to receive the rent guarantee and tax benefits.
To rent a home through AISK, contact the City of Differdange social services office, which will verify whether you meet the eligibility criteria to submit an application.
