A brand-new international competition is debuting in the Grand Duchy. The Aquasud aquatic complex in Oberkorn has been designated the official Run X center for Luxembourg and the Greater Region. Runners of all levels will be able to compete there in the qualifiers for the Run X | World Treadmill Championship, the first 5-kilometer world championship on a connected treadmill.
The concept is simple: each participant runs a 5-kilometer race on a connected Technogym treadmill, and their performance is automatically added to a global leaderboard. Whether you’re a casual runner, a running enthusiast, or an experienced athlete, anyone can take on the challenge and compete against participants from around the world.
The best times recorded at Aquasud qualify for the regional rounds and, potentially, the world final held in Italy. In addition to the cash prize promised to the winners, they will also secure their spot in the 2027 World Championship.
Thanks to this designation, Aquasud becomes a hub for the Greater Region: runners from neighboring countries can also qualify directly from Differdange.
The qualifying period runs from October 23, 2026, to January 24, 2027. Ten days are scheduled for athletes to attempt to set their best official time over five kilometers:
