A prolonged power outage, storm, flood, or health crisis can happen at any time. As part of the national “Bass du prett” campaign, the City of Differdange encourages residents to learn more and prepare. The “72-Hour Self-Sufficiency Guide” will be delivered to every mailbox from October 14 to 16.</em >
Are you ready? That’s the question posed by the national awareness campaign “Bass du prett,” launched by the Ministry of the Interior. Its goal: to encourage every household to better prepare for emergencies and crises so they can manage on their own during the first 72 hours—the time needed for emergency services to organize and reach the most vulnerable people.
Between October 14 and 16, all households in Luxembourg will receive the 72-Hour Self-Sufficiency Guide. This practical guide outlines the essential steps to take to be prepared for a crisis: what water and food supplies to stockpile, what items to keep within reach (flashlight, battery-powered radio, medications, important documents), how to stay informed during a power outage, and how to help your neighbors.
The guide is available in Luxembourgish and French. English, Portuguese, and German versions can be downloaded for free at letzprepare.lu.
Being prepared means not giving in to fear—it means gaining peace of mind. A few simple steps, taken in advance, allow you to navigate an unexpected situation calmly and take some of the pressure off emergency services. A prepared population is a more resilient population.
The City of Differdange supports this public interest initiative and thanks you for contributing, in your own way, to the resilience of our community.</em >
