Barbecues prohibited in forests

Due to the persistent heat and high risk of fire, barbecuing is prohibited in all forests within the municipality of Differdange starting Saturday, July 25, 2026 until further notice.

The current drought makes the vegetation particularly flammable. A single spark or improperly extinguished embers can be enough to start a forest fire with serious consequences for nature, wildlife, and hikers.

To inform visitors, the City of Differdange will install warning signs at all barbecue areas located in the forest.

The City of Differdange thanks its citizens for their understanding and urges them to exercise the utmost caution during their visits to the forest.
