Street Closures and Detours in Downtown Differdange on Sunday, September 20

Three events will take place in downtown Differdange on Sunday, September 20: the “En Dag wéi fréier” festival organized by the Senior Citizens’ Commission on the Market Square, the soapbox race organized by the Jugendtreff, and Mobility Week.

To ensure everyone’s safety, several streets will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and detours will be in place.

Streets closed to traffic (8 a.m.–10 p.m.)

  • J.-F.-Kennedy Street, between Roosevelt Street and Charlotte Avenue.
  • Émile-Mark Street, up to Michel-Rodange Street;
  • Charlotte Avenue, at the intersection with Émile-Mark Street.
  • Millchen Square, at the intersection with J.-F.-Kennedy Street.
  • Victor-Hugo Street, at both intersections with J.-F.-Kennedy Street.
  • Henri-Dunant Street, at the intersection with J.-F.-Kennedy Street.

No traffic allowed on Henri-Dunant Street (toward Grand-rue), on Saint-Nicolas Street (toward Victor-Hugo Street), and on Victor-Hugo Street toward Millchen Square (from Saint-Nicolas Street).

Dead-end streets: Victor-Hugo Street from Saint-Nicolas Street toward Place Millchen, as well as Charlotte Avenue from Saint-Nicolas Street toward downtown.

Two-way traffic is exceptionally permitted on Rue Saint-Nicolas (between Rue J.-F.-Kennedy/Place Millchen and Rue Victor-Hugo) and Rue Victor-Hugo (between Rue J.-F.-Kennedy and Rue Saint-Nicolas) to allow residents to leave the area.

Detours

  • General traffic is being diverted via Émile-Krieps Boulevard, Liberté Avenue, Grand-rue, Roosevelt Street, and de la Montagne Street.
  • Traffic coming from Rue de Hussigny/Rue Roosevelt is being diverted via Rue de la Montagne, Avenue Charlotte, railroad crossing PN15, and Boulevard Émile-Krieps.

No Parking

Sunday, September 20, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Rue Henri-Dunant (except for vehicles with a valid permit).
  • Rue J.-F.-Kennedy, Rue Saint-Nicolas, Rue Victor-Hugo, and Place Millchen, at the marked locations.
  • Rue Émile-Mark, between Avenue Charlotte and Rue Michel-Rodange.

From Friday, September 18, at 7:00 a.m. to Sunday, September 20, at 10:00 p.m.

  • Spaces reserved for motorcycles at Place du Marché.
