In connection with the Steel Run and iRun 2026 races, traffic and parking arrangements will be temporarily modified on several streets in Differdange and Oberkorn, on Sunday, September 13, 2026. These measures are intended to ensure the safety of runners and all road users.
We encourage residents and drivers to review the information below and plan their trips accordingly.
Road Closures — Closed Course
On September 13, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until the end of the event, the race course will be completely closed to traffic. Barriers bearing the signs No Entry and Road Closed will be installed at the following locations:
- Jeannot-Kremer Street;
- Avenue du Parc-des-Sports, between Charlotte Avenue and Prince-Henri Street;
- Rue des Champs;
- Rue de l’Eau, between Rue des Champs and Rue Boettelchen;
- Boettelchen Street;
- Prommenschenkel Street;
- Jean-Gallion Street, between Prince-Henri Street and Pierre-Mentz Street;
- Prince-Henri Street, between Rue de la Gare and Parc-des-Sports Avenue;
- Charlotte Avenue, at the intersection with Parc-des-Sports Avenue;
- Charlotte Avenue, near the crosswalk at the intersection with Émile-Mark Street;
- Émile-Mark Street, near the crosswalk in the pedestrian zone;
- Michel-Rodange Street, at the exit of Gerlache Park (intersection with Parc-Gerlache Street);
- Chemin-de-Fer Street, between Prés Street and Michel-Rodange Street;
- Pierre-Krier Street;
- Renée-Lazard Street;

Crossings
- Boulevard Émile-Krieps, crosswalk Opkorn housing complex.
- Charlotte Avenue, crosswalk Aalt Stadhaus.
- J.-F.-Kennedy Street, crosswalk near houses No. 53 and No. 54.
- Rue du Parc-Gerlache, at the exit of the pedestrian zone.
- Émile-Krieps Boulevard, crossing toward the Hauts-Fourneaux parking lot.
- Differdange Bypass, near the crosswalk.
- Woiwer Street, at the intersection of Pierre-Krier and Renée-Lazard Streets.
- Barry-Weber Street, at the exit of the bike path.
- Oberkorn Avenue.
- Dicks—Lentz Street.
Closed Sidewalks
On September 13, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until the end of the event, the following sidewalks will be closed to pedestrians:
- Jeannot-Kremer Street (Lunex side);
- Chemin du parc de la Chiers, including the section leading to the intersection with Émile-Krieps Boulevard;
- Émile-Mark Street, between Émile-Krieps Boulevard and the schoolyard entrance;
- Edmond-Dune Park Road;
- Charlotte Avenue, between de la Montagne Street and Saint-Nicolas Street (even-numbered side);
- Victor-Hugo Street, between Saint-Nicolas Street and J.-F.-Kennedy Street (even-numbered side);
- Saint-Nicolas Street, between Charlotte Avenue and Victor-Hugo Street (odd-numbered side);
- J.-F.-Kennedy Street, between Victor-Hugo Street and Place du Marché (odd-numbered side);
- Place du Marché (partially).
- Pedestrian zone (partially)
- Gerlache Park Path;
- Émile-Krieps Boulevard, between the exit of the Centre-Ville parking garage and the pedestrian entrance to the Hauts-Fourneaux parking garage (on the Centre-Ville side);

Traffic: Resident Access, One-Way Streets, and No-Turn Restrictions
Several traffic changes will take effect throughout the afternoon.
Traffic prohibited, except for residents — starting at 2 p.m.
- Rue des Fours, at the intersection with Route de Belvaux.
- Rue de la Montagne, at the intersection with Rue Roosevelt.
- Avenue Charlotte, at the intersection with Boulevard Émile-Krieps.
One-way traffic
- Starting at 1:30 p.m.: Avenue du Parc-des-Sports, between Avenue Charlotte and Rue Jeannot-Kremer.
- Starting at 2:30 p.m.: Charlotte Avenue, between de la Montagne Street and Émile-Mark Street.
- Starting at 2:30 p.m.: Émile-Mark Street, between Charlotte Avenue and Émile-Krieps Boulevard.
No left turn
- Jeannot-Kremer Street, at the intersection with Parc-des-Sports Avenue.
All these measures will remain in effect until the end of the event.
No Parking
To keep the parade route and logistics areas clear, parking will be prohibited at the following locations and times:
- From 7:00 a.m. on September 12 to 10:00 p.m. on September 13: Place Jehan-Steichen parking lot (partially);
- September 13 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.: Rue de la Chapelle (nos. 10–16);
- September 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.: Rue Jeannot-Kremer, bus stop, Rue Jean-Gallion parking lot (marked spaces), Rue Xavier-Brasseur between Rue John-Castegnaro and Rue Pierre-Krier, Rue Woiwer across from houses Nos. 197 A and 197 B, Rue de la Chapelle across from houses Nos. 4–16, Charlotte Avenue between de la Montagne Street and Saint-Nicolas Street, Victor-Hugo Street between Saint-Nicolas Street and J.-F.-Kennedy Street, Charlotte Avenue in front of houses nos. 37–45.
Temporary stops (September 13 from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.)
Temporary stops will be set up at the following locations:
- 111 Avenue de la Liberté;
- Hauts-Fourneaux parking lot toward Niederkorn;
- City Center parking lot toward Differdange.
Vehicles parked in violation of these regulations may be towed at the owners’ expense.
