Coronavirus: Information for Businesses

Solidarity with local businesses

The city of Differdange decided this morning to waive the rents for its premises occupied by shops. The decision was taken in agreement with all the parties represented in the municipal council of Differdange, i.e. the local sections of déi gréng, CSV, LSAP, DP, KPL and Déi Lénk. The cancellation concerns the two monthly installments to be paid in April and May 2020, and may be renewed if the coronavirus COVID-19 related situation so requires.

The city of Differdange, which had been one of the first municipalities in the country to suspend rent payments, has decided to reinforce its measure in the face of the extent of the crisis.

In these difficult times when businesses are risking their survival, the city of Differdange considers it essential to show solidarity and wants to help its shopkeepers in a concrete way.

Call for solidarity

The local council takes this opportunity to ask all landlords renting commercial premises to make a gesture – on the basis of their respective possibilities. The coronavirus crisis is a challenge that we can only meet if we show unity and solidarity with those in need.
